Ontario’s online gambling industry surpasses $10 billion revenue milestone
In 2025 alone, Ontario’s sector set record yearly gross of $4.04 billion. In the 45 months since launch, the market has grown steadily and produced total tax revenue of $2.04 billion for the province.
Ontario’s online gambling industry surpassed a major milestone in December when total revenue in the 45 months since the market opened in April, 2022 topped $10 billion to exactly $10.2 billion. Since launch, Ontario’s online gambling sector has produced total tax revenue of $2.04 billion.
Figures released this week by iGaming Ontario (iGO) show December was also a record month as total gambling revenue was $425.4 million, surpassing the previous best month ($406.2 million in November, 2025) by 4.7%. Those are the only two months Ontario’s online gambling sector has surpassed $400 million in revenue.
For the calendar year of 2025, total gross revenue was $4.04 billion up 34% from 2024 total online gambling revenue of $3.01 billion and up a whopping 78% from the 2023 total of $2.27 billion. We’ll leave out the 2022 numbers since the market opened in April of that year, and the numbers won’t be for 12 months.
For all of 2025, online casino revenue was $3.15 billion, up 40% from $2.25 billion in all of 2024 and an increase of 92% from total 2023 figures of $1.64 billion.
In terms of online sports betting, total 2025 revenue was $814.9 million, up 18.6% from $687.1 million in all of 2024 and an increase of 43% from total 2023 figures of $570 million.
December’s record numbers were driven by both strong online casino and sports betting revenue. Online casino revenue of $320.5 million was the highest single month in history and just the second time online casino revenue has topped $300 million in a month. The previous record was $304.2 million in October. Online sports betting revenue of $99.1 million was the second best month in Ontario history, only surpassed by revenue of $102 million in November, 2025.
Online poker was $5.8 million in December, down from $6.3 million in November.
