As we prepare to draw the curtain on April, the final Gaming News Canada Show of the month provided perspective on a plethora of topics.

Canadian country managers Amanda Brewer (Kindred Group) and Kris Abbott (Betano/Kaizen Gaming), Nic Sulsky of PointsBet Canada, Parleh Media Group partner Gavin Roth, gave three thumbs-up to Nuvei bringing part-time actor/entrepreneur/emerging sports tycoon Ryan Reynolds on board recently as an investor and ambassador for the Montreal-based payments company.

This week’s announcement by esports and sports betting business Rivalry to land igaming operator Pinnacle as a partner in a $10 million financing push, along with NorthStar Gaming’s acquisition of Slapshot Media, kickstarted a conversation on the latest happenings in a dynamic industry which include M&A activity and regulated Ontario operators getting their ducks lined up to take their business into other provinces.

Finally, we took the roundtable route on the habits of sports bettors in a month which includes the start of the MLB season along with the opening rounds of the NBA and Stanley Cup playoffs. Abbott and Sulsky provided a few surprises on what’s been most popular among their brands’ customers.
