In case you missed it, private sports betting and igaming operators delivered record results for iGaming Ontario’s latest market performance report. iGO chief of staff Mitch Davidson appeared on the Gaming News Canada Show to provide details on the double-digit quarterly increases in total wagers and gross gaming revenue for the October-December period. Davidson also answered our questions about what’s top of mind for the government subsidiary in 2024. Regular contributors Amanda Brewer and Phill Gary also lent their respective perspectives on the latest results.
A2Z Ventures founder Eric Herd and Parleh Media Group CEO Mark Silver got into a busy week of CEO shuffling across the sports betting/media industry, highlighted by the departure of Erika Ayers Badans from Barstool Sports and the news that Patrick Keane is stepping down as the chief executive officer of the Action Network more than two years after the sports betting content company was acquired by Better Collective. Herd and Silver also discussed the potential purchase of bankruptcy-bound Diamond Sports Group by Amazon.
Finally, the aforementioned Gray had a few suggestions for football fans around the NFL playoffs’ divisional round this past weekend.
